Hotel Options/Top Picks
5 Star Deluxe: The only true deluxe option on the Brazil side is the newly renovated Orient Express, Das Cataratas. Located within the Brazil National Park, from the hotel you are walking distance to the Brazil Falls and a wide array of other activities available within the National Park. Because the hotel is a bit far from downtown and the Argentina side of the Falls, it offers two excellent restaurants, both of which offer local and international cuisine. Also, while the hotel offers “falls view” rooms, due to the foliage around the property, the view is not always guaranteed. An appropriate hotel selection if you would like an intimate falls experience but not wishing to venture too far from the hotel.
Still on the Brazil side, but outside of the Park, we have the 5* Bourbon Cataratas, a more classic hotel, very comfortable and close to the National Park. Still a bit far from downtown, though you are walking distance to the Bird Park, which hosts a wide variety of native and endangered bird species of the region. Bourbon also offers 2 restaurants, a pool and even a kids club and babysitting. I stayed at Bourbon during my time in Iguassu, and in my opinion, for the price and location difference between Bourbon and Das Cataratas, Bourbon is a great option in the 5* category.
Moving down to 4* options, we have Mabu Thermas & Resort a fantastic 4* deluxe option, located across the street from Bourbon and is a little more family driven than Bourbon, with it’s incredible thermal pools and kids activities, as well as a full service spa, Mabu is great for the entire family. In the standard 4* category, which we consider budget options for most, we have the brand new Bristol Dobly Viale, very clean and modern, great location downtown and convenient to all Iguassu has to offer. Another 4* recommendation is Falls Galli Hotel, also located close to downtown, offering a restaurant and cocktail bar, pool, Jacuzzi and host of other amenities, either will leave you more play money in your wallet.
If staying on the Argentina side, (and perhaps a reason TO stay on the Argentina side), your deluxe options are fantastic. At the 5* Deluxe level we recommend two options, The brand new Loi Suites Resort & Spa , a truly amazing chic, sophisticated eco-resort, surrounded by lush jungle and only 15 minutes from the Argentina Falls. The resort offers full spa service, numerous pools, and incredibly private chalets. If spending more than the recommended 2 nights, the resort also offers a variety of eco-activities, to include, kayaking, hiking, canopy tours and horseback riding. If your taste is more for the classic elegance, there is none better than the luxurious Iguazu Grand Resort & Casino. At only 10 minutes to the Argentina Falls and close to the Brazilian border, here you are in the middle of it all. Hosting a full service spa, theatre, casino, 5 incredible restaurants, countless pools, children’s activities and babysitting service, there is no end to the options of this beautiful resort.
For 4* options, our recommendation is Panoramic Hotel a beautifully remodeled hotel, close to all that the Argentina side has to offer. Featuring newly renovated grounds and gardens, a beautifully modern hotel option that includes 4 restaurant options, and the “Panoramic” view of the meeting of the Parana and Iguazu Rivers. Also on site is a casino, lounge, multiple pools, massage options and playground.
